Perfectly Flawed

Have you ever looked at a (typically indoor) flower arrangement and wondered if it was real or fake?
How do you determine if something is genuine or a copied representation?

I look for an imperfection. I let my eyes wander and when I find a blemish… I smile.

Do you see that? I do. And it’s beautiful.

Imperfections are the things that make us alive. Those flaws that you’re trying to hide? That’s what brings others comfort in knowing they are not alone.

One of my best friends is so inspiring because she doesn’t mask anything about herself, if she has a struggle, she’ll share it. You know what that encourages me to do in return? Share my struggles. Communicate my weakness. Lower my defenses.

Be real. It’s what makes us human. It’s how you know you’re seeing a person, and not a façade. If something looks perfect, it’s because it’s a manufactured model.

Beauty is found in flaws.
