Healing Sage Tea

If you're looking for the best tea for a sore throat, you've found it. As I'm writing this, I'm sipping on some of this warm and healing sage tea. It typically does the trick when I feel a cold coming on, so I wanted to share this recipe with you.

Ingredients

  • 1½-2 cups Filtered water
  • 1 Tea Bag (I use Chamomile) optional
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Sage Leaves
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger, sliced
  • 1 Garlic clove, sliced
  • 1 Lemon wedge
  • 1 tbsp Honey

Instructions

  • In a small stock pot over medium-high heat, add all the ingredients except the honey and bring to a simmer.
1½-2 cups Filtered water, 1 Tea Bag (I use Chamomile), 1 tbsp Fresh Sage Leaves, 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger, sliced, 1 Garlic clove, sliced, 1 Lemon wedge
  • Simmer a few minutes to allow the flavors and medicinal benefits to penetrate the water fully, then remove from heat.
  • Pour the tea through a fine mesh strainer into a mug. Add the honey, stir, and sip.
    1 tbsp Honey
  • (Alternatively, follow the first two steps, add the honey in the pot and stir, then pour everything into a teapot with a removeable infuser to allow a longer steep.)

Notes

I roughly chop the garlic and ginger, leaving the skins on. You will strain them out later so don't take the time to make them perfect.
