This is your basic sweet tea recipe but with a healthier sugar choice and optional mint leaves. So incredibly refreshing, it can be served hot or cold.
Place tea bags and filtered water in a stainless steel pot and set over high heat. Warm until it almost simmers, and then remove from heat.
2.5 Liters Filtered Water, 4 Tea Bags, Quart size
Stir in honey* or honey granules and mint leaves. Allow the tea to cool completely.
½ cup Raw Honey* or sub honey granules**, ¼ cup Fresh Mint Leaves
Pour through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher or jug. Discard the tea bags and mint leaves. Place tea in the fridge to chill. Serve over ice on a hot day. It's also great warm.
Notes
*Children under the age of 1 should NOT consume honey. (Yes, you can substitute another sweetener but honey is preferred for its natural medicinal attributes.)**If using honey granules or regular cane sugar, increase the amount to 1 1/2 cups.
